I'd repair the leak. I let it go on my wife's Savage and
I noticed it going from the battery cover to the saddle bags.
A real mess, but after a while her bike started to run rich and
start poorly. It ended up being a clogged air filter. The paper air
filter was soaking wet and clogged with oil residue and I wonder if
the leaking oil gets atomized after crashing into the battery cover
and then maybe gets sucked into the air intake?
Only a theory, but worth fixing. It only took about 3 solid hours
to repair the leak and I had to purchase an inexpensive wrench to access one of
the cover bolts.
